The Yukon Territory’s mining and exploration industry raised more than $50,000 at the Yukon Chamber of Mines 39th Annual Yukon Geoscience Forum last November.

The Yukon Geoscience Forum Awards Banquet held a silent auction that raised more than $26,000 to benefit the Yukon Imagination Library, which provides all Yukon children with one free book per month from birth to the age of five.

An additional $25,000 was raised through the Rock Hounds silent auction at the Yukon Gold Mining Alliance open house to benefit the Yukon Mines Legacy Foundation. The foundation created and manages the Ross River Recreation Trust Fund, with an aim to help the community rebuild and replace its arena and equipment, which were destroyed in a fire earlier in 2011.
