Robert Cook President of the Canadian National Stock Exchange.

What summer doldrums? CNSX continues to fly in the face of the worldwide trend of reduced trading activity with another busy month.

CNSX Markets is pleased to provide you with our monthly review for August 2012. While not a record setter in absolute terms, August saw impressive year over year and month to month growth. The number of trades was 47 per cent higher than July and 40 per cent above August 2011, while volume rose 11 per cent on the month and 33 per cent year over year. On a broader front we have recently seen improvements in trading activity on other markets and are optimistic that this trend will continue over the next several months.
