When: November 7 to 9
Where: Heritage Inn Hotel and Convention Centre, Cranbrook
An opportunity to network and learn about the diversification of the mining industry is coming to Cranbrook, B.C., from November 7 to 9, 2017. The 13th annual Minerals South Conference and Trade Show is hosted by the East Kootenay Chamber of Mines (EKCM)–a non-profit organization actively promoting resource extraction interests in southeastern British Columbia.
This event showcases what southeastern B.C. has to offer, and it brings together a variety of industry leaders—from geoscientists and geophysicists to explorationists and suppliers.
It will feature technical and information talks for industry professionals, highlighting mineral exploration in southeastern B.C. There will also be a trade show that’s open to the public and will include displays and information on the industry, ongoing projects, suppliers and other mining-related subjects.
“Whether you are new to the mining industry or have been in the business for a long time, this conference offers everyone a chance to gain new knowledge, connections and keep up-to-date on the latest regulations,” said Jason Jacob, president of the East Kootenay Chamber of Mines. “It is a much-anticipated opportunity to stimulate exploration in the East Kootenay.”
Other Minerals South highlights include:
- Paleontology fossil display
- Drill core and field specimens of rock and ore
- School program for elementary students
- Banquet
- Silent auction
Minerals South switches locations from the East to the West Kootenay every year. Nelson hosted last year for the West Kootenay. The East Kootenay hosts this year in Cranbrook.
